Important Reminders | For parents during the 2015-16 school year
If your child is in the first grade:
Remember that two years of faith formation is a requirement to receive the sacraments of first reconcilliation and First Eucharist, which are received during the second grade. So you must make sure that your child is registered and regularly attends faith formation this school year in order for them to be properly prepared to receive their sacraments next school year when they are in the second grade.
If your child is in the second grade:
If this is the second year of faith formation for your child, you must make sure that your child is registered and regularly attends faith formation classes this school year in order for them to be properly prepared to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Saturday, November 7, 2015 and First Eucharist on Sunday, April 3, 2016.
In addition to your responsibility of making sure that your child regularly attends these classes, all parents of children in the second grade are required to attend two workshops: First Reconciliation Parent Workshop on Sunday, October 11, 2015 and First Eucharist Parent Workshop on Sunday, February 21, 2016. Both of these required parent workshops will be held from 10:15 until 11:30 AM in the church. You will receive more specific information about preparing your child to receive these two sacraments during the month of October.
If your child is in the third, fourth and fifth grade:
Your child must continue to regularly attend and participate in our parish faith formation program this year. Although they received their First Eucharist, they must continue to receive regular instruction in our Catholic Faith in order to be properly prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation in the future.
If your child is in the sixth grade:
You must make sure that your child is registered and regularly attend Faith Formation classes this school year in order for them to be properly prepared to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday, October 13, at 7:00 PM at Christ, Prince of Peace Church, Ford City.
