Welcome to Our Parish

Thank you for visiting the St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church website.

Located along the picturesque Eastern bank of the Allegheny River in Kittanning, central Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, our church is a parish of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Greensburg, and is a partner parish of St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro.

Our parish continues the rich history of Catholic faith in the Kittanning area that dates back to the time of the early French explorers who once journeyed along the Allegheny River. In 1853, during the era of industrial growth, our first permanent Catholic Church was built on the same plot of land as our current church that was dedicated in 1964.

Our Mission
St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Kittanning, located along the Allegheny River, is a Catholic Community of believers representing many ethnic backgrounds and family traditions united to serve and support each other in our Christian journey.

Through participation of all age groups in the liturgy and sacraments, we look to deepen and continue to grow in our Catholic faith. By the sharing of our talents, we hope to manifest Christ’s presence in our community.

Faith Formation

Faith Formation is a general title given to programs that help Catholics deepen their understanding of the Catholic faith and tradition throughout their lifetime, from childhood through adulthood.

Our parish offers a variety of faith formation opportunities for children, as well as adults throughout the course of the year.  You are welcome to explore the various faith formation programs that our parish offers or check our parish bulletin for current faith formation opportunities.
